Access and Admission

The recommended admission profile for this PhD Program can be divided into academic background and personal capabilities:

• ACADEMIC PROFILE: From the perspective of prior academic training, the following background is recommended:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: hold a Bachelor’s degree or Engineering degree in Computer Science. Alternatively, possess a Bachelor’s degree or Engineering degree in Telecommunications or Industrial Engineering (Automation branch), or hold a Bachelor’s degree or Licentiate in Physics or Mathematics with a specialization (major) in Computing.

  • Master’s Degree: hold a Master’s degree, preferably research-oriented, in fields related to Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Automation branch), or in Physics or Mathematics with specializations related to Computing.

PERSONAL CAPABILITIES: From the perspective of personal capabilities and skills, the recommended admission profile is as follows:

• • Ability for autonomous learning and updating knowledge in Computer Science.

  • Ability to work in situations with limited information, contribute new ideas, and be creative.

  • Teamwork skills, organizational, planning, decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to relate to others and provide constructive criticism.

  • Initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, leadership qualities, and skills in directing and managing teams and projects.
